What is Lovense Vulse?
If you’re familiar with sex toys, the term vibrating “love egg” will most likely conjure up a certain image. But for those who are newer to sex toys, it’s a “bulb” you insert into the vagina and there is a “tail” that sticks out (usually to house control buttons or an antenna if it has distance capabilities). But what if we add the term “thrusting” into the mix?
A thrusting, love egg, bullet vibrator – now that’s a mouthful… or vajayjay full. HA!
Vulse has a mechanism inside that stretches and retracts the bulb – imagine a tiny accordion. This feature is delicious because you now have two kinds of internal stimulation (as well as against the g-spot if positioned right).
The Difference Between An “Egg” & A “Bullet“
While we could argue that the terms are interchangeable, we can also be picky and separate them. Where a bullet vibrator is something that resembles the shape of its namesake (and is used for external stimulation only), a love egg is meant for internal stimulation and has the arm/tail sections we talked about just before. However, as with all things in the sex-toy world, there are adaptations. So, we also have love eggs that look more like bullet vibrators. Oh my, that’s a lot of choices out there!
- Love eggs are usually larger and bulbous.
- Vibrating bullets are often smaller and longer.
- Eggs are often meant to target the G-spot.
- Bullets are meant for general stimulation. Some only vibrate and some claim to “thrust”.
- Eggs are easier to create a “thrusting” motion because of the external arm.
Interesting Note:
While it won’t affect your shopping and play experiences at all, there are some arguments about whether the term “love egg” is copywritten – and therefore unusable by anyone other than the company that owns it. But, yes, just an interesting tidbit for you!
Vulse’s Key Features
Design & Build Quality
Vulse has a shape very similar to Lush 3 – in that there’s the internal section, the outer arm, and the arm’s tip that holds the button. It’s also made from body-safe silicone across the entire toy. This makes it 100% IXP7 waterproof (yay, for shower play!). It has enough weight to give the first impression of quality without being so heavy that it’s uncomfortable or impossible to use for hands-free moments.
- The single button is at the end-tip for easy access as well as housing the magnetic charging dots.
- The accordion/thrusting section is behind the G-spot curve, so the back-and-forth motions add to any internal stimulation.
- It can go up to 120 thrusts per minute and at a distance of 10mm
Toy Size & Measurements
Vulse is reasonably sized, especially considering it holds a more complex motor system than Lush 3. It’s also small enough not to show during discreet public play.
How to Use Vulse
- Either check the charging level through the dedicated app or give it a top-up after you unbox it.
- Wash it before you play!
- Long-press the button until you feel it vibrate for a moment.
- Quick press to cycle through the vibration and pattern levels.
- Explore and enjoy!
- Long-press to turn it off.
Vibrations, Patterns, & Intensity
Vulse is the same as most other Lovense products – you have 3 pre-set steady vibration levels and 4 patterns (Pulse, Wave, Fireworks, and Earthquake). However, you can reprogram the steady levels to be whatever you prefer. And what most people don’t realize is that there are 10 open slots for patterns that you can store in the toy.
And if you’re wondering where the “unlimited” patterns come into play (both figurative and literal, heehee), the Remote app gives users access to the free Lovense public pattern library. There are tens of thousands of options that have been uploaded by other users. All you have to do is download whatever floats your boat.
Noise Levels
Vulse reaches around 66 dB at its highest level (but this can vary greatly depending on if you’re using it internally, etc). For anyone not sure what this sounds like:
Around 60 dB:
- Normal Conversation: It’s the level at which we comfortably chat without raising our voices.
- Background Music in a Café: It adds ambiance without overpowering conversations or quiet moments.
Above 60 dB:
- Hair Dryer: These can range from 70 to 90 dB, depending on its power and distance from your ears.
- Busy Restaurant: During peak hours, the combined noise from chatter, clinking cutlery, and other activities can reach levels of 70 to 85 dB.
Below 60 dB:
- Leaves: The gentle rustling of leaves in a light breeze registers at around 20 to 30 dB.
- Library Ambiance: The ambient noise level is usually kept below 40 dB.
Battery Life & Charging
You’ll get between 57 to 61 minutes of play (let’s round this to an hour for the sake of simplicity) from a 1.08h charge (again, let’s say 1 hour). But, this could be lower depending if you’re going from 0% to 100 or just giving it some extra juice to keep it topped off.
Cleaning & Care
Vulse is easy to clean. Just wash it with mild soap and warm water. Then let it air dry completely. After, store it in the included black satin baggie – no one wants dust attached to their sex toys. When you’re ready to play with it again, always rinse it off and use water-based sex lube if you need a helping hand in that department.
Important:
NEVER use silicone lube with silicone sex toys! The combination might sound logical, but put the two together and you’ll have a sticky, glue-like film that is nearly impossible to wash off (I speak from personal experience). Also, you risk permanently damaging your toy!
Price Point
Most Lovense products have a competitive price tag that sits at the end of the “high-scale” category – with Vulse priced at around $119.00 USA. Lovense also runs regular sales, holiday offers, and bundle deals for anyone wanting it even cheaper.

- Once you’ve successfully paired your toy with your phone, navigate to the Vulse panel in the “My Toys” section of the app.
- Tap the “Program” button to access the programming options.
- Select “Adjust Levels” to change the first 3 steady power levels.
- Choose “Create New Pattern” to add a preset pattern to one of the 10 open slots.
My Testing Experiences
When I first held the toy, I got Lush 2 feelings – in that the neck is bendy rather than fixed. The insertable part is obviously not “solid” because it needs space for the thrusting mechanism. And when the toy stopped at the “wide open” thrusting position (to give the toy its 1cm breath) I felt a “gap” when I gave the silicone a squeeze.
Still, it felt rather solid and the quality build I would expect from Lovense. We also still have the body-safe silicone and waterproof casing – so it’s safe and has extra possibilities for “fun”.
First, Lush has had three iterations to work out all its issues. Second, if we want a bulb that’s comfortable for most people to insert, there will inevitably be some aspect of the design that will have to rescind some design real estate. Meaning to have both parts in such a small space, Vulse is like a Jack of Two trades rather than a Master of One.
“What’s truly captivating about vibrating love eggs is the mystery they bring to the bedroom. The external controller means your partner can surprise you with a range of intensities, creating an electrifying bond between you two.”
With some help from my handy friend, Mr. Lube, insertion was comfortable. However, I’m always worried about anything that could “pinch” my body – but Vulse isn’t like a thrusting dildo (where I can edge it in slowly) so I just had to go for it.
This is where we get into a grey area. Because vibrations, patterns, and intensity are all subjective. So all I can do is give my feelings based on my preferences (Aka, a power queen who prefers clit stimulation).
The feeling was surprising – not quite like Lovense Gravity, more of a cousin in the sensation department. I couldn’t reach orgasm with it – but that’s not the fault of the toy (I need serious clit action to get my engine going). There were pleasant residual vibrations that came up the toy’s neck though. For anyone who wants direct clit stimulation, I would pair Vulse with Domi 2, Exomoon, or Hyphy.
The steady settings were nice, but I reprogrammed them to be stronger – which was much better. I’ve never been much for patterns, but I can definitely see others loving them. It’s especially interesting with patterns mixed with thrusting AND vibrating.
I was worried that it would be too loud. But as you can see from the sound tests earlier in the review, the low/med/high levels were actually not as loud as my ears were interpreting. Vulse is louder than Lush 3 but still viable for discreet public play in the right places. I also found the sound significantly muffled once inside – and no, I’m not holding my phone up to my vajayjay for additional sound tests.
It’s a sex toy that is good for crowded bars, parties, clubs, busy areas, or places where no one can hear (if you’re paranoid like me). In those areas, you’ll have a blast. Libraries, quiet coffee shops, art galleries, etc. maybe not so much. For anyone who has the chance to use it this way, drop a comment below – I would love to know what happened!
Side Note:
Remember, discreet public play means you or the person with you (maybe controlling the toy) are the only ones who know about it in the slightest. This is to stay true to the Consensual part of the SSC rule.
The long-distance connection was exactly what I expected – great! I’ve never had major issues in this area (just a couple of drops because of my WiFi connection. Bluetooth was also what I thought it would be, having a limited range – like any other device. That distance will also reduce if you cross your legs, have barriers between you and the toy, or leave the recommended radius. But if you don’t like the BT option, the app connect is always there for you.
Also, for anyone wondering if you can play with Vulse WITHOUT the app, the answer is yes, you can just use the button to get your jollies. The app just means that you have access to extra fun.
Recharging versus battery life is a 1:1 situation (which is the minimum I look for when it comes to keeping my sex toys alive). I think the reduced battery life (compared to similar toys like Lush 3) is because the thrusting mechanism takes up more juice. Again, not a con in my book, 1 hour of playtime is nice. However, if you love extended play (like using a toy to sync with porn or adult gaming), you might want another toy on standby.
Vulse shined for me when I played around with the Remote App features. Like other testing, the erotic audiobooks, erotic game sync, and music sync were fantastic. Finding songs with more pronounced bass makes the reactions more “in line” with the song. Using it this way was also an experience where an orgasm wasn’t at the top of my list (in a good way). I also like Vulse best for the in-app games, because the mix of thrusting and vibrations was more entertaining than just the normal vibes you would get with other wearable toys. The same goes for porn sync.
I also did a quick shower test and a “walking around” test. I wasn’t keen on using it when I was trying to clean my body, but I think it would be great to use in the bathtub (because I could relax easier). Going about my day (while doing some cleaning because I have zero social life that takes me outside), was as expected. I have Lush 1 and 2, so I know what happens when the neck is fixed versus flexible. It bulged out slightly, showing through my leggings. It won’t be an issue for anyone wearing a skirt or stronger material like denim but I can see it shifting out of place if you’re going to be active. Just something to keep in mind.
“Technology has revolutionized every aspect of our lives, even our most intimate ones. With the fusion of innovation and pleasure, today’s sex toys redefine satisfaction, turning fantasies into realities at the touch of a button.”
All in all, I liked Vulse. It has a solid slot in the Lovense family – filling a figurative and literal hole in the sensations department. I can see it being great for long-distance couples, anyone who wants to experiment with new sex toy mechanics, people who want to expand their sex toy collection in unique ways, or those who want a hands-free option to use in tandem with the fun Remote app bits.
Also, don’t think we’re ending things here. There’s more to look at – like comparing to other Lovense toys, competitor comparisons, packaging, specs, and more. Keep reading if you want a more complete picture!

Unboxing & Packaging
I’ve rambled on about packaging before, and you might be rolling your eyes, thinking, “Here she goes again.” But stick with me. Packaging isn’t just about pretty designs. It’s about that moment of excitement before diving into your new toy. With Vulse, Lovense seems to say, “We’re classy but we don’t have to be over the top about it.” It’s like that little black dress – simple, elegant, and gets the job done.
What’s in the Box?
- 1x Vulse Thrusting Love Egg: The star of the show, looking all comfy in her custom cutout.
- 1x Magnetic USB Charger: Magnetic chargers are great, even if they are a tad finicky.
- 1x User Manual: Simple, clear, and heavily visual. Lovense knows we aren’t here for a novel.
- 1x Storage Bag: No matter how high-quality the silicone is, it will always attract dust.
Packaging Quality
The foam cutout is an important barrier for the toy – good to have, especially when delivery people play soccer with your packages (true story). The overall packaging vibe is chic yet practical. Why waste extra materials to make the inside of a box ultra pretty and therefore more expensive? If I were to put on my judge’s hat and score it, I’d go with a 9/10. It’s decent and gets the message across.
Discreet Packaging & Shipping
Some buyers might not think about how the sex toy arrives at their door. It’s always best if the sender ships in an outer box that doesn’t give away what’s inside – whether for privacy or gifting surprises. The same goes for any details on the labels. With Lovense, customers always get their orders in plain brown boxes with the company name instead of the brand.
Vulse vs. Other Lovense Toys
Lovense Vulse is great for those after something a bit different. It’s designed to provide a unique blend of sensations and a tailored, hands-free experience for anyone who wants pleasure targeted around the G-spot. A good option for anyone who needs more than vibes.
Lovense Lush 3 is a discreet wearable egg vibrator and a cornerstone of the company’s library. Being the 3rd generation, it’s been highly improved through customer feedback. Powerful vibration and G-spot stimulation make it excellent for adventurous spirits or long-distance couples.
Lovense Dolce (formerly Quake) is another hands-free sex toy. It’s ideal for those who want powerful G-spot AND clit stimulation. The middle of the U-bend is also adjustable, so it will fit more internal curves than other wearable vibrators. Long-distance couples and power queens will love it.

Pros & Cons
Remember, what might be a con for one person can be a non-issue (or even a pro) for another. It’s all about individual preferences. But this list should give a balanced overview.
Pros
- Dual Sensations: Combining the beloved vibration of the Lush 3 with a thrusting mechanism gives users a rich, multi-faceted experience.
- Versatility: Whether you’re in the mood for gentle vibrations, rhythmic thrusts, or a combination of both, this toy caters to varied desires.
- Enhanced Stimulation: The thrusting action can provide a more realistic and intense sensation, mimicking more natural movements.
- Increased Satisfaction: Anyone who needs something more than vibrations will love Vulse.
- App Features: Retaining Lovense’s interactive app capabilities means you get all the tech perks, like long-distance control, music synchronization, and custom patterns, now with the added thrust function.
- Innovative Design: It’s a leap forward in the teledildonic market, marrying vibration with thrusting in a remote-controlled egg design.
Cons
- Noise Level: With the addition of a thrusting mechanism on top of a vibrator, some people might not be comfortable with discreet public play that’s in a quiet spot. But that’s easily solved if you just head to a place with more noise.
- Cleaning: The accordion section makes thrusting possible, but you also need to be a little more careful when cleaning to make sure it’s thorough enough.
- Price Point: With advanced features, the price might be heftier compared to simpler toys.
- Power Levels: Those who need a rocket ship between their legs might not like the gentler/combined strength.
Who Will Love Lovense Vulse Vs. Who Might Pass
Who’s it for:
- Enthusiasts of targeted G-spot stimulation.
- Anyone who wants to experiment with new sensations.
- Fans of customizable intensity levels and patterns.
- Admirers of app-controlled toys with lots of features.
- Seekers of convenience with rechargeable and waterproof functionality.
- Couples interested in long-distance play and remote control options.
- Cam models looking to expand their toy list or have complete control over tipping.
Who’s it’s not for:
- Traditional vibration enthusiasts.
- Noise-sensitive individuals during intimate moments.
- Users who prefer manual operation over app control.
- Seekers of simplicity over customizable options.
- Budget-conscious individuals or those with different design preferences.
Final Thoughts & Verdict
Vulse is a solid first-generation thrusting love egg. I like that it’s handsfree (great for gaming or erotic audiobooks) and the dual sensations were a nice difference as well as something “new” to the market – there are “thrusting eggs” out there already but many are borderline “bullets” or don’t quite have the same, targeted design.
And, like all things techy, there will be room for upgrades when Lovense can get their hands on whatever comes out. This means that customer feedback is VITAL. Changes and upgrades to all Lovense toys are a solid 80-90% of what buyers have suggested. Never be worried about telling them what you hope for or wish for. Personally, I hope that the second version has a more powerful vibrator while reducing noise levels or a slightly larger bulb with a more prominent G-spot hump.
I’m 100% confident that there will be tons of people out there who will adore Lovense Vulse, just the way it is. Vulse gets a respectable 8.5/10 for ingenuity, design, material, and massive potential.
