Penis Vibrators – Comprehensive Reviews and Shopping Guide

What are they?

Male vibrators or penis vibrators might seem like a straightforward term, but any online searches end up very muddled. Some include cock rings, others even throw female vibrators into the mix.

However, in this article, we are going to stick to this simple definition:

It’s something that goes around most of the penis (with a focus on the head) and vibrates.

This includes male masturbators that have a motor in them and other such manual stroking devices.

It excludes vibrating cock rings, pocket pussies, and thrusting machines.

WHAT SHOULD YOU LOOK FOR?

BODY-SAFE MATERIALS

They will mostly be silicone and TPE with ABS plastic or even stainless steel components etc. Silicone will be the best since it’s non-porous and easy to keep clean/sterilized.

However many use TPE, which is a kind of rubber. TPE is body-safe (no toxic chemicals), but it IS porous, which means you can’t get it 100% sterilized.

CLEANING & CARE

It’s essential to clean your toys before and after use.

Also, drying them and storing them in a cool, dry place is equally as important (you want to avoid mold, mildew, and fungus). Sterilization with TPE will be impossible, so make sure you take care of them to the best of your ability.

IMPORTANT NOTE: DO NOT share TPE/TPR/RUBBER toys.

You might cringe at the thought of letting another person use your sex toys, but same-sex couples or people that enjoy kinky or public play will need to be especially careful to make sure no one else’s bodily fluids get in contact with the material. Because, if there’s a chance of STI’s you might as well throw out your toy.

If it’s made from silicone or has silicone components, make sure they don’t rest against other silicone toys while in storage. Otherwise, they may slowly degrade each other.

The same goes for lube. Water-based is the best option.

Silicone lube with a silicone toy is a no-no.

VIBRATORS & MOTORS

Everyone is different. Some people like things that are deep, rumbly, and likely to vibrate your genitals off, while others like them light and buzzy. There’s no right or wrong when it comes to motor sensations, however, you do need to be careful of a few things:

  1. Cheap motors break or burn out faster
  2. Even expensive, high-quality motors won’t last a lifetime
  3. The motor location will either increase or dampen the vibrations

In any case, make sure you read the return policies of wherever you’re buying.

SEX TOY SELLERS

99.9% of the time, I will recommend buying from trusted sellers, especially when it comes to an expensive, name-brand toy. Places like Amazon have a bad rep for selling knockoffs that don’t meet the bar, aren’t body-safe, or even RESELLING toys that have been returned … ew.

PENIS VIBRATOR REVIEWS

MEN’S MASTURBATOR BY PIU ($200)

Since teledildonics came onto the sex toys stage, many companies (Piu included) are trying to cash in on this particular market.

While this toy is great in several aspects, it utterly fails in others. The packaging and design are impressively stylish, and they offer control through an app. It’s also silicone, waterproof, and rechargeable – all things on the pro side.

Unfortunately, the rest ended up an utter disappointment. The motor was weak, buzzy, and felt “misplaced” for most of the settings. This might be okay for a guy who’s never really tried this kind of toy before, but anyone else would get bored quickly.

The instructions for the buttons are misleading, the app has connections problems, and the porn videos you can “sync” with are limited to heterosexuals who like Asian actresses – that’s if you can even GET THEM TO LOAD at all. Even then, it just ends up random vibes.

Throw all of this on top of the fact it’s on the smaller side … and EXPENSIVE (over $200). I’m hoping they come out with a next-generation version that fixes these issues. It might be worth it then.

PULSE SOLO/DUO III BY HOT OCTOPUS ($125)

This is the next generation after the Pulse, the Pulse II Solo/Duo (the difference being the solo is just for male use, while the duo has and extra motor on top so a partner can ride the vibes).

I honestly think the upgrade to the second motor is worth it. The other upgrades over the years have included: making it waterproof, increasing the motor strength, adding a “Turbo Mode” in the newest model that lets you skip right to the highest setting.

The hardest part is remembering that it’s an oscillating toy, not so much a wanking one. At first, the experience was strange for my man– not bad, just strange … and intense, since I’m a brat and turned it on full right off the bat.

Some might not like the feel of “draggy” silicone, but some guys (or girls if you’re using Duo) might not have issues.

The remote is also super handy. The best part is that it can accommodate a wider girth, which is sometimes difficult to find is male toys.

COBRA LIBRE II BY FUN FACTORY ($130)

This is another one that’s NOT a thrusting toy, rather a tube that you slide your member into and leave it there to enjoy the vibes.

It’s rechargeable, waterproof, looks cool (like a sports car for your cock) and is made from fairly soft silicone.

The two problems most people have with this are:

A. the motor, which is too weak for some and

B. The insertable part (3.5 inches) isn’t nearly long enough (even for an average penis).

There was the odd person that complained about the buttons, but we didn’t have any issues with it.

Clean-up can be a bit messy since there isn’t anywhere for your load to go afterward (but the same could be said for open-ended ones). Also, the vibrator strength is average – some users might like it, others might not.

NALONE OXXY & O FORCE  ($58 & $210)

The Nalone is very much comparable to the Cobra Libre (waterproof, chargeable, and easy to clean etc.).

However, the motor is louder and it takes longer to charge. I would also make sure the opening will accommodate your size.

The same goes for the O Force – just keep in mind that this one isn’t rechargeable and people say the motor is also loud.

LINGA BY RENDS ($25)

My coworker tried this one and said it was quite good with strong, unique vibrations that hit all the right spots. It’s easy to clean and even easier for your partner to use on you.

This one you can also use as a stroker (if you include some lube). The best part? It’s very comparable to something by Hot Octopus but WAY cheaper.

The one downside is the charging port cover. Try not to lose it, otherwise, that waterproof aspect is gone.

If you don’t like the cleanup from an open-ended toy, you might not like the design.

TRACY COX MALE VIBRATOR ($40)

Our first impression out of the box was the flimsy nature of the entire thing – it really is just a TPE sleeve with a pinched middle and an egg vibrator with a cheap-looking remote.

Putting it on while flaccid wasn’t the sexiest thing. Putting it on while erect was better but still a bit of a chore.

When we turned it on, the vibrations were less than impressive. Not much travels up the material. When you actually bend the thing to let it rest against the penis, it was significantly better.

I wondered why bother with all of this when one of my vibrators was right there, but holding a masturbating sleeve and my dildo would have been cumbersome, so I suppose I see the function.

I can’t rave about it, but I’m not going to slam it either.

APOLLO HYDRO POWER STROKER ($70)

Where do I start with this little guy?

First, this is one you can pump into without worry about a short shaft (but any longer dudes might still have this issue).

My man LOVED the sensation from the TPE sleeve (which is covered by tonnes of little “nodules and fonds”, as one reviewer called them). You can also remove the sleeve for easy cleaning, which is a vast improvement on the old one. It does collect a lot of dust and fuzz though. We also found the suction cup decently strong.

There are THIRTY vibration patterns and settings, which is a bit overkill for us. I will concede that some users might like the variety, but even with the “smart chip” (which remembers your last setting), we found it rather tedious to go through all of them until we found one he liked.

In the end, the price makes it something to consider. The sensations alone are worth it, even if they are only powered by AAA batteries. Would recommend (especially in the shower).

EXTRA NOTE: Any self-proclaimed “packaging snobs” out there might not like that the box looks (and is) cheap AF. Personally, I don’t usually care what the package looks like, but I think it could have come with a little extra padding to keep it safe during transport.

RINSE BY ROCKS OFF ($60)

Am I the only one that thinks this looks like a cheese grater? I will also give 100% disclosure and say this is one we haven’t tried. So, I scoured the internet for other user’s experiences…

The consensus seems to be a “thumbs up” on the design, material, rechargeable battery, and waterproofness.

However, it got a “thumbs down” for the motor, which was described as “not particularly intense” and “not as strong as I would like”.

The biggest red flag (from first impressions) is the handle – it doesn’t look ergonomic. The grip might be okay if you’re holding it from the side, but anything other than that might be harder on the wrist.

TRINITY VIBES HEAD BULLET ($20)

I laughed pretty hard when I saw this one – it looks like a rocket pack or a drinking helmet for your penis.

I also didn’t buy this one, mostly because it’s on Amazon.

To me, it looks like a shorter version of the Tracy Cox toy. The upside is you don’t have to hold the vibrators in place. However, all sensations are limited to the head of the penis.

It IS on the cheaper end of the scale, so if it didn’t work, there wouldn’t be much to mourn.
